T-t-teaching

I've recently, within the last two years or so, been bit by the travel bug. More specifically, I want to go somewhere and do something to make a difference. I have already served with Americorps, I've pondered the Peacecorps, and now that I'm working towards a Masters in Teaching, it wouldn't be totally out of the question to teach abroad.

I've thought about it before, and a friend from college is currently do just this in Japan. While I don't know about my own fancy for the country, I would love to explore the opportunities there are to teach abroad. I think not only would it be an awesome way to spend my summer after graduation, but I would be a better teacher for it.

Those I've known who taught abroad quite enjoyed it. I spoke to a Peace Corps rep, and he said that they take thousands of teachers every year. Not only do you get the amazing Peace Corps experience, but there are apparently some decent perks. I'd love to do this but am not in a point of my life where it would work out right now.

I'm thinking that might be the way to go. My current boss did a term of service in with Peace Corps. I have commitment issues though. Two years is along time, and that's what they ask for.
